1. Agreement

By booking lessons with English Teacher Online ("we", "us"), you ("the student") agree to these terms, our class policy, our refund policy and our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not book lessons.

2. Services

We offer private, one-to-one English lessons for adults, including general and conversational English, business English, job interview preparation, presentation and meeting skills, and exam preparation. Lessons take place in person in downtown Toronto or live online. We may decline or end services with reasonable notice.

3. Booking

Lessons are booked by WhatsApp, email or our contact form. A booking is only confirmed when the teacher replies to confirm it. Please book and make changes at least 24 hours in advance.

4. Cancellations

Cancellations, late arrivals and missed lessons are covered in our class policy. If we cancel a lesson, we will reschedule it at no cost or, if you prefer, refund that lesson.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are agreed before lessons begin. All prices are in Canadian dollars and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Card payments are handled by a third-party payment processor; we never store your full card details. We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price change. If a payment is overdue, we may pause lessons until it is made.

6. Refunds

Refunds are covered in our refund policy.

7. Recordings

Lessons may only be recorded with the prior consent of both parties. Recordings are for the student's personal review and may not be shared or published without written permission from both parties.

8. Conduct

Lessons are a respectful, professional environment. We may end a lesson or the agreement immediately if a student behaves in an abusive, inappropriate or disrespectful way, without a refund for that lesson.

9. Intellectual property

All lesson materials and the content of this website belong to English Teacher Online. Materials are licensed for the student's personal use only and may not be copied, shared or sold without written permission.

10. Results

Learning a language depends on your own practice and effort. We do not guarantee specific results, exam scores, immigration outcomes or job offers.

11. Liability

We are not responsible for problems caused by third-party services outside our control, such as Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp, internet providers or payment processors. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the lessons in question.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Toronto, Ontario. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. We will tell current students about important changes at least 15 days in advance by WhatsApp or email.
