English Teacher Online respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and your rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. What we collect

Contact details you send us, such as your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number.
Lesson information, such as your English level, goals, schedule and lesson notes.
Payment records, such as the amount and date of each payment. Card payments are handled by our payment processor, and we never see or store your full card number.

This website has no user accounts and does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

2. How we use it

To reply to your messages and arrange lessons
To plan lessons and track your progress
To send invoices and keep the business records the law requires

We never sell or rent your personal information.

3. Services we use

Formspree delivers messages sent through our contact form (privacy policy).
WhatsApp (Meta) handles messages you send us on WhatsApp.
Zoom / Google Meet are used for online lessons.
Stripe processes card payments.
Netlify hosts this website and may keep basic technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security.

Some of these providers store data outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

4. How long we keep it

We keep student information while you take lessons and for up to 2 years afterwards, and financial records for as long as Canadian tax law requires (generally 6 years).

5. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, at any time. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
